The present study aimed to identify the motivations and barriers women face in pursuing school management positions and to determine strategies that could facilitate this pathway. This research employed a qualitative approach with classical grounded theory as its methodology. The field of study focused on female teachers who were candidates for managerial positions in Kurdistan province's school. Using purposive sampling and based on the theoretical saturation principle, 18 participants were selected for the study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed via open coding and categorization. Research validity was ensured by adhering to the four criteria: Credibility, Dependability, Confirmability and Transformability. The findings revealed 241 open codes and 18 sub-concepts, which were categorized under three main themes: motivations, challenges, and strategies. The motivations included constructive innovation and transformation, personal growth and development, women's managerial competence, effective communication and collaboration, nurturing and developing students, and organizational justice and equality. The challenges highlighted societal stereotypes regarding women's management, lack of legal frameworks supporting women in management roles, role overload, women's resilience issues in managerial positions, unfair appointment practices, and lack of support from higher-level organizations. Finally, the strategies encompassed societal cultural development regarding women's managerial capabilities, provision of welfare facilities, merit-based appointments within a transparent process, and fostering a culture of gender equality.

Identifying a specific competency model for selecting managers in any organization is a suitable alternative for selecting efficient managers. The purpose of this research was to identify the competencies and design and validate the competency model of Iran Oil Terminal Company managers. In this study, 20 managers with high and normal performance were selected from among 45 managers. "Applicable" used both quantitative and qualitative methods (in-depth interview of behavioral events, expert panel and questionnaire) to collect and analyze data. Thematic analysis, job analysis, and Q methodology approaches were used to determine specific competencies. The final competency model of managers was designed in three dimensions of individual competency, managerial competency and organizational competency with 9 main themes and 43 basic themes. Validation findings showed that the compiled competency model is well able to predict outstanding and ordinary performance and therefore has "simultaneous cross-validation". Also, the findings of "simultaneous construct validation" showed that outstanding managers get higher scores in the competency model than ordinary managers. Also, the retest reliability of the competency model test was estimated at 0.87 and the reliability between two evaluators was estimated at 0.83.

The aim of this study was to explore and analyze the concept and dimensions of university multifunctionalization as a novel approach in higher education. This research is classified as developmental in terms of its purpose and employs a qualitative methodology, using thematic analysis for data collection and interpretation. The study's target population included professors and specialists in the fields of higher education, educational management, psychology, and social sciences in Tehran during the year 2024. A purposive sampling method was applied, selecting 20 participants for the research sample. Data was gathered through semi-structured interviews, and the analysis was conducted using a three-stage coding strategy within the MAXQDA software environment. The results of the study revealed that in the open coding phase, 478 basic themes, 52 organizing themes, and 9 global themes were identified and categorized. Accordingly, the dimensions of the model developed in this study include: multidimensional education, applied and innovative research, entrepreneurship development and collaboration with industry, responsiveness to societal needs and environmental challenges, technology and digitalization, internationalization and cultural diversity, Islamization and ethical education, effective governance and management, and interdisciplinary skill development. Focusing on these dimensions has the potential to transform universities from merely educational institutions into multifunctional organizations that significantly impact both society and the international community. Therefore, by adopting this approach, higher education administrators and policymakers can substantially enhance universities' ability to meet the increasing demands of society and strengthen their role in promoting sustainable development.
