Abstract

The purpose of the current research is to analyze the concept of teachers' professional virtue through the construction of a valid and reliable teacher self-evaluation tool, to study the understanding, measure the components, and its level among Iranian teachers. The research method is descriptive-survey and its approach is quantitative. The statistical population of the study includes all the teachers of Sanandaj city in all educational levels and the statistical sample was selected by cluster sampling method for 65 items, the number of respondents was 650 people. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire of the type of closed-answer questions and the data was analyzed using factor analysis. From a statistical point of view, there is a significant difference in the average of the total professional virtue of teachers and its components (commitment to teaching in line with valuable social goals) and (commitment not only to one's practice, but also to the teaching itself) according to the amount of work experience, (commitment to practice) Teaching in line with valuable social goals and commitment to ethical principles and care in teaching) was observed according to the type of employment, the component (commitment to teaching in an exemplary and exemplary manner) according to the type of field taught by teachers in the school. The researcher-made evaluation questionnaire of "Teachers' Professional Virtue" can be a valid and reliable tool for teachers' self-evaluation in the Iranian environment; To study understanding, measure the components and its level among a sample of Iranian teachers.
